Michael Jackson’s last rehearsal video Two days before death.
Amazing video footage has been released of Michael Jackson rehearsing for the London concerts that never happened two days before he died.
He may not have looked a picture of health for many years but the last known moving film of the star show the singer engaged, dancing well and singing.
The promoters asked the family before releasing the images.
President of AEG Live, Randy Phillips, told Sky News he choose the video because he was “sick to death” of the rumours that Jackson was incapable of carrying off the concert.
The promoters said that they have 100 hours of High Definition documentary footage and enough music material to release two live albums.
This was clearly intended to be a massive comeback project for Michael Jackson, but despite his death it is an odds on bet that the posthumous return will be enormous.
The footage was filmed at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles and its here that a planned service of remembrance is to be staged next week.
The details are not certain as Katherine Jackson, the singer’s mother, has the final word.
But initial plans indicate that there will be a private family service on Tuesday morning at the Forest Lawn cemetery, where Jackson’s grandmother is buried.
After that a convoy will move to the Staples Centre complex, a huge arena stadium and home to the LA Lakers basketball team.
Thousands are expected to attend the two-hour service.
In the background, of course, coroner and police investigations into the singer’s death continue.
The Drug Enforcement Agency is assisting and will focus on trying to identify the doctors and the drugs supplied to the King of Pop over many years and to find out why the prescriptions were written.
Any wrongdoing could lead to criminal charges.
There have been a slew of court filings and hearings since Jackson’s death and they continue.
His ex-wife and mother of the two eldest children, Debbie Rowe has indicated she will move to take custody, although it is understood she has not made a final decision.
If Rowe does it is believed she will also apply for a restraining order against Michael’s father Joe.
He is known to dislike her and she would attempt to stop him influencing the children. But Katherine Jackson has temporary custody of all three children and Mr Jackson Sr lives at home.
The courts will have to be involved again, with the first hearing due for Monday.
The fans’ concern though remains with next week and the memorial service.
